Connectivity from
Studio to Transmitters at four Metro AIR
Stations for

- Consequent to the technology upgradation by BSNL / MTNL, the old analog lines/ circuits have been replaced by new digital circuits like ISDN; Digital leased lines etc. in metros and other cities.
- For the transportation of programme on these digital lines / circuits, AIR has provided digital stream of the programme which could be integrated with BSNL/ MTNL’s etc digital system. For this transportation MCBS has provided end link equipment like audio codecs and multiplexers which is integrated with digital circuits of BSNL / MTNL etc.

- Equipments are supplied by MCBS at Studios and various transmitter locations at Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai
- MCBS supplied the entire end link equipments with two main configurations of MUX, DEMUX-
- Baseband Audio Codec Modules (8+2) with Mux Card (1+1), Alarm and Control card (1+1), power supply unit (1+1) cards and accessories with redundancy
- Baseband Audio Codec Modules ( 4+1) with Mux Card (1+1), Alarm and Control card (1+1), power supply unit (1+1) cards and accessories with redundancy
- Other Equipment set consist of-
- Dual UPS ( 2 KVA), Dual UPS ( 1 KVA)
- Eight Channel A/D Converter, Four Channel A/D Converter
- PC/ Work Station with NMS
- Wired Racks , Cables, Connectors and accessories
- IP Interface Cards
- MCBS has provided Audio jack Patch panels of 19 inch, 2RU (rack unit) with different configurations for 8+2 and 4+1 audio codecs.
- AIR officials carried out detailed inspection of all equipments at the MCBS factory in Gandhinagar before dispatch to various sites.
- MCBS has provided detailed brochures of all equipments, user manuals and CD-ROM covering installation procedure for easy and efficient installation & commissioning.
- Training of engineers (AIR) in each of the four locations in operation and maintenance of the equipment is to be provided by MCBS.
